WE ALL WANT TO selected as a finalist in 2013 Queensland Music Awards

July 5, 2013

qld music awardsAfter two months of deliberation by more than 50 judges across Australia, WE ALL WANT TO’s acclaimed 2012 album Come Up Invisible has been selected as a finalist in the 2013 Queensland Music Awards, in the category of Album Of The Year.

The band is delighted by the ongoing love for this album, and humbled by their inclusion with the three other finalists in this exclusive category.

Since releasing Come Up Invisible in September 2012 it’s been a frenzy of activity for the band: extensive touring around pretty much every region of Australia, inclusion on the 2012 AMP long list, critical praise, the release of an 8 track EP in January, sold out shows and extensive radio airplay.

Here are just a few of the things that were written about Come Up Invisible:

“This is a band that demands your attention, but not with compromise.. Steward’s vocal and songwriting collaborations with Skye Staniford push the music into some deeply emotional territory..  Just add songs, 11 great ones, and you have one of the best records you’ll hear in 2012, from Brisbane or anywhere else.” (The Courier Mail)

“Combining the candid honesty of Frank Turner, the addictive pop melodies of The Naked and the Famous, and the haunting male/female harmonies of The XX, We All Want To are, in a few words, bloody awesome.. Do yourself a favour and buy, beg, steal or borrow this album. It is amazing. It is uplifting, charmingly unpolished and painfully honest.” (The AU Review)

“It’s filled with the sort of smart, timeless and unpolished pop that never goes out of style.. There are melodies big enough to power stadiums here, grafted onto homegrown production values; the local meets the universal..  it’s a keeper.” (Scenestr)
