Women in Docs – Tin Roof
Digital Single from the album Carousel, December 2013.
1996 in Townsville saw what is now called ‘the 100 year rain’. In one day, as much rain fell as had done in 100 years. On this particular “100 year rain” evening, the band was due to play at local bar The Exchange. However, as the water gushed through the pub, which was at knee level, the publican decided it was a good idea to stop the gig. The band members couldn’t get to their respective homes as the roads had cut, so they all camped out Roz and Chanel’s place. As a result of being hemmed in for a few days, this song was written – which seems have had a lasting consequence.
