[singlepic=246,320,240,,right]Roz Pappalardo has been a busy woman during “women in docs” first official holiday in over a decade of touring.

Busy, busy, busy – her solo debut album, ‘This Lifeboat”, was recently released by pioneering Queensland label, Plus One Records, to immediate airplay across Australia, the film clip for the album’s lead single (“I Say Fall”) has been aired liberally by Foxtel’s Country Music Channel and has also just been nominated as a finalist in the inaugural West End Film Festival. Phew.

Not to mention the song writing accolades she has received for this debut record – a two time semi-finalist in the esteemed International Songwriting Competition for Country and Adult Contemporary categories, thumbs up from critics all over Australia and dominating the All Australian Country Charts during the later half of 2009.

Roz’s debut solo album, “This Lifeboat”, has been described as an introspective peek at Roz’s innermost feelings about love, life and death, wrapped in a concoction of juicy slide guitar, male backing vocals, thick upright bass with a little bit of raucous fun thrown into the mix – and it’s been a hit at festival after festival around the Eastern seaboard, from Woodford Folk Festival (2008 / 2009) to Tamworth Country Music Festival (2010).

Live, Roz and the Waywards are known as riveting and masterful, all clearly enjoying the huge sound the band exudes – the dynamic energy and joy between the five friends on stage is evident and ensures the whole show is going to be a blistering success.

She’s just about set to pack up her Wayward fellas to make some serious noise down south with the release of her second single. “Broke” is a stirring and edgy duet between Roz and Aria Nominated Wilson Pickers’ lead recruit, Andrew Morris.

“…she’s been blessed with one of those unforced, melodic, seemingly effortless and just so darn purrty voices …. the quality never falters…”
Rave Magazine

“The Wayward Gentlemen provide the perfect setting for Pappalardo’s voice and songwriting to shine. This Lifeboat really shows what a strong singer Pappalardo is….”
