[singlepic id=291 w=320 h=240 float=right]Brisbane based band HALFWAY are proud to announce they are back on the bus and are ready for more special performances for 2011. The band are pleased to be on the road with Australia’s purveyors of fine indie rock KNIEVEL for the month of April plus Jackie Marshall is jumping on the bus for the ride as well (if she can find a seat), plus the odd show here and there and the announcement of Northern Hemisphere gigs in May that are in need of fund support as it’s not cheap touring an eight piece.

KNIEVEL have around since before the turn of the century. The band formed in 1994,  when Wayne Connolly (formerly of the Welcome Mat) teamed up with Tracy Ellis (ex Oliver) and Nick Kennedy (playing at the time with Big Heavy Stuff). Fourth member Tim Kevin (Hoolahan, La Huva) joined in 2000.The band released their first album ‘We Fear Change’ on the Murmur label and had ample amounts of radio play on Triple J with their first single Might As Well Be Gone.

[singlepic id=426 w=320 h=240 float=right]In recent years they have been having some quiet time to themselves after their frenzied touring. They recently reconvened to play a gig on the rooftop of the Alberts Music building. They are nearing completion of their new album entitled THROUGH THE RAINBOW DARK which is scheduled for release in early 2011.A new single “They Listen Out” has been released and will be available on itunes imminently.

HALFWAY’S latest album “AN OUTPOST OF PROMISE” has received critical acclaim across Australia and the world and is available through Plus One Records. Fresh from shows at Gympie Muster and Big Day Out (not many bands could attest to playing those 2 bi polar festivals in one year!!) and a bag of new songs under their belt, HALFWAY are ready to take on the poms in May and any assistance in getting there would be great, so that means getting out and supporting them and If you think HALFWAY is a studio country roots band, we suggest you check them out now before everybody realises what they have been missing out on.
