[singlepic id=281 w=320 h=240 float=right]The 3rd Annual Friends of Folk Festival is excited to announce its first line-up of artists for 2011.
Previously held at The Globe Theatre in Brisbane earlier this year, the Friends of Folk Festival (FOFF) is moving to Brisbane’s iconic Old Museum.
The Friends of Folk Festival is more than a music and arts festival – it’s a concept, an experience and a cultural event to unite Brisbane with its local artists.
“FOFF showcases and celebrates many of Queensland’s best local talent” Mark explained. “We hope to see this become Brisbane’s inner-city Woodford Folk Festival.”
“This is an event for Brisbane, by Brisbane, in Brisbane. We’d like the public to see it as their festival to help grow, support and develop.”
“We are including fine art, short films, visual arts, buskers, markets and stalls to really create a colourful atmosphere.”

FLOOD RELIEF APPEAL
In light of what’s happened in Queensland over the past week, we’ve decided to donate all ticket profits from Friends of Folk Festival to the Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal. We will also be continuing our pledge to donate $1 from every ticket to the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation. This event is still primarily about promoting and supporting our local artists, so it’s entirely voluntary if artist’s want to donate part of their performance fee to increase the overall donation.
