Texas Tea are a two piece alt-country act from Brisbane, Australia.

Texas Teas debut album, Take A Sip, featured heavily on radio from its release in 2006, including ABC, Triple R, PBS, Triple J, 4ZZZ. In 2006 and 2007 Texas Tea took out the Hot 100 on Brisbanes 4ZzZfm with tracks 'Macy and Me' and 'Whiskey and Wine'. These tracks also featured as finalists in the Q Music Awards and in 2007 APRA Songwriters Award. Tracks from Take A Sip have been used in several film projects including a film by Tropfest Winning Director Steve Baker and more recently in feature film Savages Crossing.

Their second long player 'The Junkship Recordings' is set to cement Texas Teas place in the country and alternative music scene in Australia. The album was recorded over the last year in several late night sessions at Junkship Studios with producer and engineer Jamie Trevaskis. Stand out tracks on the album include; 'Billy' - a rollicky lament of loss, 'The Cane Farmer's Song' - a sinister spiritual prayer for rain and 'The Ferry Song' - a tragic story of a relationship slowly drowning.

A typical Texas Tea show will include a curious blend of live instrumentation with a combination of guitars and percussion played by foot. Kate and Ben are dual songwriters for the band. Their sound is lyrically driven and has been described as "uniquely Brisbane".

Texas Tea have been compared to such artists as Gill ian Welch and David Rawlings, Lucinda Williams, Neko Case, Mazzy Starr, Carter and Cash, Townes Van Zandt and Leonard Cohen and they have shared the stage with Iron and Wine (USA), The Handsome Family (USA), The Mountain Goats (USA), Jeff Lang, The Darling Downs (Kim Salmon and Ron Peno), Art of Fighting, The Devastations and many other fine acts.

Texas Tea have toured all over the East Coast of Australia and also overseas in Germany, Netherlands and France where they have strong support.

Flying the flag for the new generation of rock’n’roll kids, Black Mustang have just released release their debut LP, “Between the devil and the Deep Blue Sea” and will be heading up & down the east coast of Australia to promote the release.

Recorded at Brisbane’s BlackBox Studios, engineered & Co Produced by Jeff Lovejoy, “Between the Devil & the deep blue sea” is one of 2008’s most highly anticipated Indie rock releases.

The release follows a run of east coast shows supporting some of Australia’s front runners, British India, Celibate Rifles, the Fumes, 67 Special and The Exploders amongst others. Black Mustang took time out in early 2008 to focus on writing and rehearsing tracks for their new album, which see’s the band progress to a darker and more mature sound while maintaining their instinctive pop sensibilities from their self titled 2007 release.

The recording, which garnered devoted fans from all corners of the globe quickly became a buzz release amongst local stations 4ZzZ, FBI, RRR, Nova & Triple J. With tracks off the new album having already been lifted for major worldwide licensing deals throughout USA and Australia, “Between the Devil & The Deep Blue Sea” is set to accelerate the momentum built from their debut release.

As you have probably heard on the grape vine, Black Mustang are set to release their Debut LP “Between The devil and The Deep Blue Sea” On November 1st At The Zoo.

This is by far the biggest show Black Mustang have put together to date. The Show has a killer line up with some of Brisbane’s finest and most down to earth Rock Bands.

ALBUM LAUNCH SHOW FRI 19TH SEPT ~ THE TROUBADOUR

Ok for real this time! Mary Trembles officially unleash their debut full-length 'Borrowed Ears, Borrowed Eyes' on Friday the 19th of September at The Troubadour in Brisbane.

The release was album of the week in Time Off magazine last week when they said... "These 11 songs are completely flawless! That’s right, there’s not one note that shouldn’t be there or one chorus that won’t rouse you inside..." 4.5/5 stars.

Special guests at the launch include the seminal Spencer P. Jones. Not only someone with a string of solo albums under his belt, but over the past 20 years or so Spencer has been a constant in the Australian music scene both as a solo artist, founding member of Beasts Of Bourbon, and much more. MARY TREMBLES ~ NEW ALBUM OUT NOW!

MARY TREMBLES made quite a name for themselves in 2006-07. Thanks to their highly acclaimed live shows and debut mini-album release 'ps...situation', the dynamic 3-piece outfit instantly received extensive support from radio, media and the public. Constant touring and playing shows with the likes of Dinosaur Jr, Datarock, Urge Overkill, Regurgitator, The Mess Hall and others, and playing the prestigious 2007 CMJ Music Marathon in NYC have cemented their reputation as one of Australia's finest live bands.

Their first full-length record entitled 'Borrowed Ears, Borrowed Eyes' is in stores now. Recorded in Brisbane and Melbourne by Jeff Lovejoy and Skritch, mixed in Florida by Mike Major (At the Drive In, Sparta) and mastered in Los Angeles by Alan Yoshida (Powderfinger, The Vines) the album is an exciting collection of stunning songs, capturing all the dynamics, intensity and diversity of the bands' expression and recorded with a simplicity that belies the vastness of it's overall feel.

Brisbane's favourite freewheeling collective THE GIN CLUB are returning to local stages in the coming weeks to re-launch their critically acclaimed third album Junk.

A double album featuring 26 original compositions, and recorded at no less than five locations around Queensland, Junk has been nominated in two categories in the upcoming QSong awards. For the record, Junk has been garnering rave reviews since it's release in April. It received album of the week status in both Rave and Time Off magazines, as well as four and a half star reviews in Brisbane's Courier Mail and Melbourne's the Age. Since the release the Gin Club have toured extensively around Australia, performed shows locally with Liam Finn and Youth Group and traveled to Los Angeles in May to perform at the prestigious Musexpo event at the House of Blues in Hollywood.

In the coming months they are set to play the Splendour in the Grass, Gympie Music Muster and Sounds of Spring festivals, as well as supporting U.S. indie sensations Band of Horses on their Australian tour, before heading back to their makeshift studio on a cattle property outside Rockhampton to commence work on their fourth album. The Gin Club launched Junk previously at the Globe last month, however many punters were turned away and the show was unfortunately cut short. To set things straight they will be are performing a very special show at the Zoo on Saturday July the 12th - two sets, with string and horn sections and some special guests. Joining them will beTimSteward (Screamfeeder) and his band, as well as Jimmy Stewart of Melbourne band Clinkerfield.
