News, February 2009
Hey kids! The year's ticking over nicely, and all the Plus One ladies and gentlemen are
kicking arse and taking names. Radio campaigns are loaded, aimed and fingers are on triggers.

Already the CD compilation The Australianacity of Hope – A Quick Guide to Indie Australia has invaded American shores and has caused a stir, with Musicouch calling it “genius”. But you already knew it was, didn't you? But you're in luck! Along with a radio campaign for both Australian radio and US College stations, a retail campaign is kicking off in April.

If you buy any Plus One release from selected stores, you get yourself a free copy of The Australianacity of Hope!

Featuring a pair of tracks from each Plus One cadre, that's more great music than you can poke a Les Paul at!

To help us out with this promotional drive, we need you fine folks to start requesting your favourite Plus One bands on the radio.

Click here to go to Triple J's Super Request page, or hit up any of your local stations for Plus One love! We'll also be launching a new website soon, be sure to check it out!

Good news, southern states! Battleplans are in preparation, war machines are being fueled and swords are being sharpened as we speak.

BLACK MUSTANG

The Black Mustang boys had a fantastic series of shows on the Angels tour, bringing the good rock gospel to regional Queensland.

Hometown crowds who want to get in on the action can check out the Caxton St Big Arvo In in Paddington, Brisbane. That's on the 12th of April, kids!

Also, keep an eye on the telly for a new BM filmclip, or get on the net and find it yourself!

THE BLACKWATER FEVER

BWF spent most of March on tour with blues vixen Dallas Frasca, covering from Melbourne to Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

Rumours and whispers had Mary Trembles / Smokestack Orchestra man Skritch filling in on skins for several shows.

Truth or fiction? And Blackwater have a new clip too!

TOUR DATES
• 23 May – The Zoo – Brisbane (Brisbane Sounds)
• 29 May – Bon Amici – Toowoomba w/ Mexico City
MARY TREMBLES

April saw Mary Trembles playing two excellent shows at very short notice, which is a reminder for you folks to keep an eye on local street press and myspace.

I can't be everywhere at once, dammit! What made these shows even more special was that they were both on the same night!

Just goes to show that Plus One bands are crimefighting machines, ready to leap into action at a moment's notice!

Well that's it for this month. Remember, keep an eye out for that free copy of The Australianacity of Hope, and keep an ear out for our mega radio campaign! And pay attention to the Plus One myspace for last minute shows!
