Friends, followers, fiends! First you didn't think it would happen at all, and here it is again! We're a god damned institution already! Not only that, this month we're beaming live from Tokyo (in between intermittent snow and Gojira attacks). Bless the sweaty mess that is a Brisbane summer, says I. Here's all the info on the bands you need to know. |

THE GIN CLUB The Ginners dropped some mega news this month. Not only are they embarking on a mighty tour in March and April, they're off to Europe afterwards to record the follow up to critically acclaimed double album Junk. They'll have a helluva task on their hands; Junk reached the Top 10 on the AIR charts and picked up 'Best Rock Song', 'Best Folk Ballad' and 'Song of the Year' at the QMusic Awards, but we know they're up to the challenge. The tour will be the last chance fans and the unenlightened will have to catch the Club live before they bugger off, expect to hear a sneak peek (peep?) of new material at the shows, as well as old favourites. And now, a very special, personal message from Mr Ben Salter: “After our busiest and most successful 12 months yet, we're hoping our fans both old and new can come and give the Club a triumphant send off before we embark on adventures over the sea .” TOUR DATES • Friday 20th March Yandina Club, Sunshine Coast, QLD • Saturday 21st March The Zoo, Brisbane, QLD • Thursday 2nd April The Karova Lounge, Ballarat, Vic • Friday 3rd April East Brunswick Hotel, East Brunswick, Vic (w/ Texas Tea) • Saturday 4th April The Hopetoun Hotel, Surry Hills, NSW (w/ Texas Tea) • Sunday 5th April The Brass Monkey, Cronulla, NSW (w/ Texas Tea) |

With new faces Joal and Tony backing up Skritch and breathing new dimensions into classic Trembles tunes, the gig was well received indeed. Keep an eye out for more dates to follow shortly! |

THE SMOKESTACK ORCHESTRA The Smokestack Orchestra were a little quiet in February, but thanks to the miracle of modern telecommunications they've got preparations underway for their first ever tour with Sydneysiders Gay Paris (neéFurcurve), to bring some volume to the southern states in May. Stay tuned for dates! They've also been hobnobbing and jamming with Japanese psyche rockers Niplets, and writing a bunch of new tunes to boot! If you can't wait til May (and how could you?) the Orchestra will be working the graveyard shift at the Troubadour on the 21st of March, following the main show of alt-blues powerhouse Dallas Frasca with Blackwater Fever. |

INTERCOOLER Its been a quiet year for Intercooler but a very busy one for the members individually, after taking most of 2008 off for side projects and all kinds of adventures with band mates living as scattered as New York, Melbourne, Windsor & Paris, the guys managed to get some new songs down for arelease later in the year. Intercooler teamed up again on the weekend for a rare show at the Powerhouse Live Spark session. If you missed the show, it was a cracker, and also the last time you might see the band for a long time. |
