Good news, everyone! After the success of the Label Parties showcase last month, which featured some of Plus One's heavier hitting sounds, we're pleased to announce another showcase that might be gentler on the ears.

Expertly timed by Shaolin monks to coincide with QMusic's BigSound event, it will be held at the Troubadour and will feature The Honey Month, Gin Club, We All Want To, Halfway and Roz Pappalardo & the Wayward Gentlemen.

Tickets are $20.00, but if you have a BigSound pass you'll be able to get in for free. It's all going down on Tuesday September 7th, and kicking off at 8:00 pm.

Plus One would like to introduce our new friends We All Want To, the latest project from Screamfeeder's Tim Steward. Their self-titled debut album will be released on October 15, with free copies available on the door at the launch.

THE SMOKESTACK ORCHESTRA

The Smokestack Orchestra's new album EMD-12 is coming! Digital copies will be available for free from Skritch's Borough Music studio website, with physical versions available at shows soon.

The launch has been pushed back to September, but Gay Paris will still be coming along, and Smokestack will be returning the favour with a visit to Sydney for a Halloween show at the Supper Club.

THE BLACKWATER FEVER

BWF are finishing up recording In Stereo at Borough Music, keep an ear out for preview shows. They've also added a new member, Jed Walters on bass and keyboards, to flesh out their live sound.

GIANTS OF SCIENCE

If you were paying attention last month you would have managed to catch Giants in a last minute show at the Troubadour. If not, listen up now.

You say you like rock and roll? Well there's more you poke a construction crane in the direction of at the inaugural Wrecking Ball festival, coming this month. With a huge host of rock and roll bands from Brisbane and beyond, including Giants of Science and Black Mustang, there's little else to compare. The day kicks off at lunchtime, so get ready to make a day of it.
