Happy New Year you filthy animals. The decade that wouldn't die has, and we're all kicking off into a brand new, silver future. We're wasting no time in getting this decade underway, with multiple releases in the works. There's still a few months of festival season left, so keep an eye out for us on line ups around the traps.

The Gin Club are on the cusp of releasing their follow up to Junk; we believe tracking has finished, but we can't tell you the title or we'd have to kill you. We can say that it is a single album this time around. The band will be helping give Brisbane music a kick in the pants at the Brisbane Sounds gig in February, and stepping up to the plate at The Lost Weekend Festival.
If you can't wait that long, Ben Salter will be supporting the return of Aussie greats the Black Eyed Susans in February. And don't forget to head to Plus One Online to pick up a copy of the Rain 7" single.

THE BLACKWATER FEVER
BWF will be escorting the Kill Devil Hills on the Queensland portion of their tour, playing three dates at the beginning of February. They'll be bringing to gloom at Murder Ballads too.

Texas Tea are hired guns on the next Murder Ballads shows in April, with the theme Crime & Punishment.

THE SMOKESTACK ORCHESTRA
Smokestack spent the first week of the year in the studio, hammering together the armour plates for their follow up to 2008's Salute Heavy Industry.
The Orchestra has expanded their sound for this game, with piano, horns, and Texas Tea's Kate Jacobson providing some sweet back up vocals. 2010 also marks the ten year anniversary of the band, so keep an eye out for a very special Tin Jubilee show some time this year.
Oh, and did we mention that the lads will be supporting Clutch in February?

ROZ PAPPALARDO & THE WAYWARD GENTLEMEN
As usual Roz and the Waywards have a bunch of shows up their sleeve. You can also go ahead and request the filmclip for 'I Say Fall' from rage and the CMC. Consider it a late Xmas gift to yourself.
